An original Swiss Army Tornister produced in 1939, constructed from natural hair-on cowhide and heavy full-grain leather.

The thick cowhide exterior retains its natural texture and tonal variation, shaped by decades of use and time. Subtle changes in hair density, surface wear, and color reflect the material’s aging rather than deterioration. Leather straps and reinforcements are cut dense and substantial, developed to withstand prolonged load and environmental exposure.

The design is strictly utilitarian — materials selected for performance, construction reduced to necessity. What remains is a form defined by hide, leather, and metal, carrying the quiet presence of pre-war European military craftsmanship.
